Locality Profile - Gracemere
Gracemere is located 9km west of Rockhampton and 13km east of Stanwell in the Fitzroy Shire. The region is economically significant to the State Government and is one of 6 special Centres of Enterprise because of outstanding economic growth, robust investment, strong population increases, and solid export growth.
Gracemere prides itself as having the most modern (as well as the largest) Livestock Selling Complex in the country as well as the most environmentally friendly Power Station built on the Stanwell Energy Park which will house the new ZeroGen (no CO2 emission) power station and is home to many of the coal industry workers.
Economic Factors Supporting the Region

- Proximity to a major commercial port at Gladstone which is one of the largest
